DOUBLE LOCKING [G2226852]

WARNING:

Never double lock the vehicle with people, children, or pets inside. In the event of an emergency, occupants would be unable to exit the vehicle and the emergency services would be unable to release them quickly.

Smart key Double Locking: All doors, tailgate and bonnet must be closed and the ignition must be off.

To double lock the vehicle via the smart key, press the lock button on the smart key twice within 3 seconds. When the doors lock the door handles retract to the flush position. The hazard warning lights flash twice to confirm that the vehicle is double locked and the full alarm is armed (if fitted). An audible confirmation may also sound (if enabled).

Double locking secures the vehicle and prevents the doors from being unlocked or opened from inside or outside the vehicle.

Double locking provides extra security if the vehicle is left unattended. The vehicle cannot be opened by breaking a window and operating the door locks from inside. Additionally, double locking also arms the full alarm system (if fitted).

NOTE:

In this state, an open glass area may cause the alarm to sound, due to the movement of air currents. Make sure that all glass areas are fully closed before double locking the vehicle.

Once the full alarm system is armed, the alarm system activates if:

  1. The bonnet, tailgate, or a door is opened.
  2. Movement is detected within the vehicle's interior, including air currents (if intrusion sensor fitted).
  3. The vehicle is sufficiently raised or tilted (If tilt sensor fitted).
