Vehicle preconditioning conditions the high voltage battery to its optimum operating temperature while the vehicle is connected to an external charging station.
Climate preconditioning provides cabin comfort before entering the vehicle and prepares it for the next departure time.
Timed departure preconditioning can be controlled via the touchscreen controls. See DEPARTURE TIMES. When a departure time is set, battery temperature is managed to give optimal performance at the specified departure time.
The climate preconditioning system uses high voltage battery power to provide cabin heating or cooling in advance of using the vehicle. It should be noted that if the climate preconditioning function is used when not connected to a high voltage charging source then the range of the EV can be significantly reduced.
The preconditioning settings can be adjusted for user preference via the touchscreen controls to prioritise either EV range or cabin comfort. See PRECONDITIONING SETTINGS.
