LOCKING WHEEL BOLTS [G2943741]

NOTE:

When the vehicle is first supplied, the wheel bolt adaptor may be stored in the glovebox. If this is the case, move the wheel bolt adaptor to its correct storage position, as soon as possible. See TOOL KIT.

NOTE:

Not all vehicles have locking wheel bolts as standard parts.

CAUTION:

The locking wheel bolt adaptor must be correctly aligned and fully fitted to the locking wheel bolt before usage. Incorrect fitment can result in permanent damage to the locking wheel bolt adaptor. If in doubt, contact a retailer/authorised repairer.

CAUTION:

Do not use air tools or power tools to remove or to refit the locking wheel bolt. Doing so may damage the locking wheel bolt or the adaptor.

Locking wheel bolts.

Locking wheel bolts can only be removed and fitted using the special locking wheel bolt adaptor provided. See TOOL KIT.

To release the locking wheel bolt:

  1. Fit the locking wheel bolt adaptor onto the locking wheel bolt. Make sure that the locking wheel bolt adaptor fully engages.
    CAUTION:

If the locking wheel bolt adaptor is forced onto the locking wheel bolt, the adaptor may be damaged beyond repair.

  2. Locate the wheel brace over the locking wheel bolt adaptor. Unscrew the wheel bolt by half a turn counter-clockwise.
  3. After raising the vehicle on the jack, remove the locking wheel bolt.
NOTE:

Should a replacement locking wheel bolt adaptor be required, consult an authorised retailer. It is advised to make a note of the locking wheel bolt adaptor code number to allow a replacement to be sourced, if ever required. Depending upon the specification of the locking wheel bolt adaptor, the code may be stamped on the locking wheel bolt adaptor or supplied on a separate card.
