INCONTROL REMOTE SMARTPHONE APP [G3140303]

NOTE:

The availability and functionality of the InControl Remote smartphone app depends on the specification of the vehicle and the market in which the vehicle is being used.

NOTE:

In order to use the InControl Remote smartphone app features, complete the following steps:

  1. Create an InControl account. See INCONTROL ACCOUNT SET UP.
  2. Download the InControl Remote smartphone app to a smartphone. See DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING SMARTPHONE APPS .

Available features within the InControl Remote smartphone app:

  1. Vehicle Location: A map display of the vehicle's parked location and the user's current location.
  2. Vehicle Status: Displays the latest status of vehicle alerts such as windscreen washer fluid level low. Each status gives an indication of the health of each alert, as well as offering advice on how to resolve any alerts.
  3. Beep & Flash: Locates the vehicle by flashing the vehicle’s lights and sounding an alert.
    NOTE:

    The driver is responsible for complying with all regulations in force for a specific country, regarding the use of vehicle horns.

  4. Vehicle Security: Displays the open and closed status of all the doors and windows, and the current alarm setting. Vehicle Security also displays the locked and unlocked status of the vehicle.Vehicle Security allows the user to lock and unlock the vehicle remotely. If either lock or unlock cannot be performed, the smartphone screen displays an error message.When the vehicle is locked remotely, it is secured to the maximum possible level allowed in the market in which the vehicle was intended for original sale.
    NOTE:

    If any window(s) is in an open position, the vehicle does not lock remotely, unless the window is closed. In some markets, remote closing of the windows is not permitted.

    When the vehicle is unlocked remotely, it relocks after 40 seconds if no door or aperture is opened.Regardless of which screen is currently displayed on the smartphone, if the vehicle's alarm is sounding, a pop-up screen is displayed with an option to reset the alarm.
    NOTE:

    The driver is responsible for knowing the location of the vehicle and for making sure that the vehicle is secured.

  5. Remote Climate: Remote Climate allows the engine of an automatic transmission vehicle to be started remotely, and to run for up to 30 minutes. The Remote Climate feature provides a comfortable temperature inside the cabin in advance of the driver entering the vehicle. Press the START CLIMATE icon on the Remote Climate section of the InControl Remote smartphone app. A target temperature can be set.Remote Climate does not function if any of the following conditions exist:
    NOTE:

    Some markets may prohibit the use of remote engine starting. The driver is responsible for knowing if this function can legally be used.

    Remote Climate is also available for vehicles fitted with a timed climate system. When the vehicle specification does not support remote engine starting, the timed climate system may be used to support cabin pre-conditioning. The condition also applies if the vehicle originated in a market with legal restrictions on remote engine starting.

    1. The vehicle's fuel level is low.
    2. The vehicle's battery charge level is low.
    3. The vehicle is not locked and alarmed.
    4. A window, door, bonnet, or the tailgate is open.
    5. The engine has been manually started.
    6. A system error occurs with a required vehicle system.
    7. A theft has been reported to the stolen vehicle monitoring centre.
    8. The vehicle's alarm is sounding.
    9. A crash event has been detected.
    10. The hazard warning lights are switched on.
    11. The automatic transmission is not in Park (P).
    12. The brake pedal or accelerator pedal is pressed.
  6. Remote Climate for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) only: The default method for providing a comfortable cabin temperature is through electric climate conditioning rather than remotely starting the engine.The user can initiate the climate control directly via an on/off toggle switch on the InControl Remote smartphone app. The user can also set a departure timer which allows the temperature to be managed at a desired time using the smartphone app.
    NOTE:

    Departure timers can be managed from within the vehicle, or via the InControl Remote smartphone app.

    Vehicles fitted with the clean air pack will run a purifying-cleaning cycle during a remote climate cycle. However, the primary function of the Remote Climate cycle is temperature control.

  7. Deep Clean: The remote cabin cleaning section of the InControl Remote smartphone app provides deep in cabin cleaning.Remote cabin cleaning allows the user to purify the cabin air prior to their journey without the need for a remote engine start.The remote cleaning cycle includes:The app displays the cleaning cycle progress and its benefits alongside a display of the on and off-board PM2.5 levels.Air Quality Index (AQI) data is also provided. AQI data is received from an air quality data provider and gives a detailed view of the air quality for the current location.AQI data can include up to 5 metrics (AQI, O3, PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2). See AIR QUALITY.
    NOTE:

    Deep Clean events can be managed via the InControl Remote smartphone app.

    Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) are limited to a maximum of 3 cleaning cycles between vehicle journeys. Non-PHEV vehicles are limited to 1 cleaning cycle between engine starts. A message is displayed if any of the pre-conditions for the cleaning cycle are not met.

    Deep Clean availability is dependent on the 12 volt Battery State-of-Charge, which is impacted by other engine-off features and functions, such as infotainment, Software-Over-the-Air updates, and cooling fan over-run.

    1. Cabin air purging at the beginning of the cycle.
    2. Purification of the air via filtration of particulate matter down to and below 2.5 µm in diameter, odour removal, allergen and pathogens deactivation.
  8. Remote Charging: The Remote Charging feature is available for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) only.The Remote Charging feature allows the user to view the status of charging, and control the charging process remotely via the InControl Remote smartphone app.The following information is available in the app:The user can also set departure timers and a preferred charging period to manage when the vehicle will charge, and manage preferences relating to charging notifications.
    1. Current battery charge level.
    2. EV Range and Combined Range.
    3. Charging status.
    4. Plug connection status.
    5. Charging rate (when charging).
    6. Time until charge completion (when charging).
  9. Remote Seats: The InControl Remote smartphone app allows the user to adust the position of rear seats and arm-rest in advance of entering the vehicle.
    NOTE:

    The InControl Remote smartphone app only allows electric rear seat and head restraint movement if the vehicle is locked.

    The InControl Remote smartphone app operations depends on the vehicle specification.

  10. Journeys: Displays the most recently completed journeys over 1 km in distance. Providing details of each journey from start to finish.
    NOTE:

    The Journeys feature can be enabled or disabled via the Vehicle Settings section of the InControl Remote smartphone app, or on the My Land Rover InControl website at: https://incontrol.landrover.com.

    Stored journeys can be viewed, deleted, or exported as a .csv file to assist with business expenses.

  11. Assistance: Displays vehicle information such as the VIN number. Direct calls can be made to the Optimised Land Rover Assistance call centre for breakdown assistance. In the event of a vehicle theft, direct calls can be made to the stolen vehicle tracking call centre, if Secure Tracker or Secure Tracker Pro is fitted.
    NOTE:

    All calls are chargeable in accordance to mobile operator prices.

  12. Vehicle Settings: Provides the user access to specific vehicle settings, service and transport modes, and journey preferences.
    NOTE:

    Service and transport modes are only available for vehicles with Secure Tracker and Secure Tracker Pro.

  13. Send to Vehicle: Allows the user to plan journeys, search and discover information about a destination, and send planned journeys to the vehicle’s in-car navigation system. In addition, the user can set a destination from the smartphone app before leaving home.The smartphone app directs the user to the vehicle using the vehicle’s location (if parked some distance away). Users are also able to pre-plan trips by searching for places of interest and saving as them as favourites on a smartphone. Saved favourites can be accessed via the stored favourites location from the in-car navigation system later.The smartphone app automatically synchronises with the in-car navigation system so that the vehicle takes over navigating soon after the user gets in.The Send to Vehicle feature location is within the "Explore" tab of the InControl Remote smartphone app.
