CARBON CERAMIC BRAKES [G4336201]

The carbon ceramic brake discs fitted to SV vehicles form part of the high-performance braking system. Carbon ceramic brakes benefit from firm use on a regular basis. Continued light use of the high-performance braking system may reduce the feel and refinement of the high-performance braking system.

Regular firm braking, to a minimum of 0.5G and without activating the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), will improve the feel and refinement of the high-performance braking system.

The deceleration rate can be viewed using the Dynamic-I G-meter. See G-METER.

WARNING:

Unless the situation merits it, only undertake a firm braking action if conditions are safe to do so. Make sure no hazards are present, including pedestrians, other road users, and adverse road or weather conditions. Make sure all local laws and legal requirements are observed. Failure to conduct the braking action in a safe and responsible manner could result in serious injury or death.

Maintaining the feel and refinement of the high-performance braking system is particularly important when planning a performance drive in demanding conditions or for example, a track session. Carry out this pattern of firm braking on track prior to a session, where applicable.

Contact a retailer/authorised repairer if:

  1. There is no opportunity to safely conduct regular, firm braking actions.
  2. Firm, regular braking actions fail to maintain the feel and refinement of the high-performance braking system.
