CHARGING THE VEHICLE BATTERY [G2782706]

Make sure to use the correct type and rating of battery charger compatible with a Lithium-ion (Li-ion) LiFePO4 battery. Using an unsuitable charger may damage the battery or potentially result in damage to the vehicle. Refer to the label near the vehicle's positive jump start terminal. If in any doubt consult a retailer/authorized repairer or a qualified person.

The above label identifies that a Li-ion battery is fitted to the vehicle.

The information on the label displays the maximum voltage and current that should be applied at the jump start terminals when charging the 12V battery.

  1. Disabled vehicle.
  2. Battery charger.

To charge the vehicle's battery using a battery charger compatible with Li-ion LiFePO4 batteries, follow the instructions in the sequence given:

  1. Connect the battery charger to the vehicle's positive (+) jump start terminal.
  2. Connect the battery charger to the vehicle's negative (-) jump start terminal.
  3. Switch on the battery charger in accordance with the charger manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Once the charge is complete switch off the power to the battery charger.
  5. Disconnect the charger cables from the jump start terminals.
  6. Start the engine. Allow it to idle.
