Network Topology (G4212323)

Network Topology provides a view of the modules connected to a vehicle against their respective network.

A new feature has been added to the Network Topology view, providing a shortcut to the selected module data.

E349222

The Topology view makes it easier to identify individual module concerns, or situations where an entire communication network has faulted meaning communication with all modules on that network is not possible.

All modules installed to the vehicle will be displayed against the network they are connected to, for example, HS_CAN, MS_CAN, Flexray. The view will also show if any of the modules have DTCs logged or have failed to respond.

Key Features

  • A topology view of the modules connected to a vehicle
  • List all connected modules against their respective networks
  • Provides the most recently read statuses
  • Easily accessible shortcut to the selected module data

How to Use Network Topology

  1. You must be a registered user, logged into TOPIx.
  2. Enter a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) from the Vehicle Search Page.
  3. From the OPTION SELECTION box select Fault and Breakdown.
  4. Select Start a new workflow or resume a previous workflow from History (there maybe more than one previous workflow to resume).
  5. Start a Diagnostic Workflow or resume a previous workflow from History (there maybe more than one previous workflow to resume).
  6. Scroll down to the Network Topology view. A summary of all modules reported during the most recent Network Integrity Test (NIT), including the communication status and any DTCs present, will be displayed.
  7. Select the module you wish to view the data for, then select 'Show Module Data’.
  8. A DIDs table is displayed, showing all software and hardware part numbers that have been read from the module.
  9. To return to the network topology view, select the cross in the top right corner of the screen.
