How to use Quality Check (G4242696)

Overview

Quality Checks accurately record, measure and analyze the standard of repairs at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Retailers, and support Fixed Right First Time repair targets. The results are stored in the Quality Check Tool where performance can be assessed by Retailers to identify trends to assist performance improvement.

There are four types of Quality Check to complete - Warranty, Service, Repair and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). The Quality Check can include detailed and/or market specific questions where necessary for full Fixed Right First Time compliance.

On the Quality Check summary screen you can filter by to view all checks performed against the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in session, or change the filter to view all checks completed by all users at your retailer. The checks listed can be filtered by the column headings.

TOPIx displays the target of Quality Checks to be performed and the percentage of checks completed.

NOTE:

Percentage values will display over 100% if the number of Quality Checks completed have exceeded the target.

  • A check to make sure the overall duty of care has been taken

How to Navigate to the Quality Check Summary screen in TOPIx

  1. For the check to appear against the right brand target (Jaguar or Land Rover) you must be logged into TOPIx using the associated DSL ID brand for the VIN you are working on.
  2. Select TOPIx Home Page to open the vehicle search page
  3. Enter a VIN or Model Selection from the vehicle search page.
  4. From the OPTION SELECTION box select Browse All.
  5. Select the tab Quality Check.
  6. On the summary screen you can view your monthly Quality Check target, and the percentage of checks completed.
  7. If your logged in DSL ID does not match the brand of your VIN in session, a notification will appear at the top of the page For example, if logged in with a Land Rover DSL ID with a Jaguar vehicle in session, an orange information bar will flag an alert which recommends the correct DSL ID to use.
  8. On the summary screen you can select Create New Quality Check, view recently completed checks, or resume and submit a saved draft.

How to Create a New Quality Check

From the Quality Check summary screen select Create New Quality Check.

The check has three sections; Job Summary, Checklist Questions, and Sign Off.

  1. In Job Summary complete the sections listed below.
    • Date - this will default to today's date, but can be changed
    • Quality Check Type - select from Warranty, Service, Repair and PDI.
    • Service Advisor* - pull down list
    • Repair Order Number
    • Technician* - pull down list
    • Odometer in miles or kilometres - if available in TOPIx this will be automatically populated from most recent session
    • Repeat repair
    • Auditor* - pull down list
    • * You can remove your name from the lists for Technician, Service Advisor and Auditor if not applicable for your role.. (TOPIx User Guide/Quality Check). for detailed instructions.
  2. In the Checklist Questions section complete all the Quality Check questions. If the answer is ‘No’ on any of the questions, you must provide an explanation to clarify the answer in the text box provided.
  3. When completed, select Save. Your Auditor can now select the Draft Quality check from the Quality Check summary page for review and sign off.
  4. An Auditor must complete the Sign Off section by reviewing the completed questions, adding any Auditors Comments, and selecting the check box agreeing that the information provided is correct.
  5. Select the Submit icon to save the check as complete. NOTE: Submit can only be selected when the agreement box has been selected. TOPIx will validate if all the sections have been completed and will highlight in red any incomplete fields.
  6. After submission, the count of completed Quality Checks will update on the summary page.

NOTE:

When using the Retailer Selection list you can scroll through the list of names using the first letter. For example, in the Service Advisor selection list using the keyboard type the first letter of a colleagues name. Select the letter again and selection will move to the next user in the list whose name begins with the same character.
