Workflow can recognise repairs that relate to a FRED component and require technical prior approval.
Where a fault is detected with a component on the FRED list, the Add FRED icon will appear against the repair plan at Step 4 of the Workflow. By selecting the the Add FRED icon you can submit a FRED for approval. When the FRED is approved the Workflow can be progressed to the next step.
To see a demo of raising a FRED in workflow, select here; Raising a FRED from workflow:
LINKING WORKFLOW TO A FRED
A Workflow can also be linked to an existing approved FRED or a Technical Assistance (TA) with FRED approval (TA2FRED).
The following can be linked to a Workflow:
When the FRED/TA2FRED is linked the Repair Validation Code (RVC) can be generated and the next steps in the Workflow followed.
If the linked FRED has been generated from a TA using the Generate FRED icon, or you have linked to a TA2FRED, then the TA number will be displayed in the Linked TA report column.
If the TA does not appear in the list when attempting to link it to a FRED during RVC creation, it is likely that the TA has not been converted to the TA2FRED format. Before proceeding:
TOPIx can automatically provide technical prior approval for some FRED repairs. This functionality is known as AutoFRED.
When following Workflow, if a fault is identified with a FRED component and the relevant diagnostic tests have been completed, depending on the results of those tests, TOPIx can automatically provide the approval at Step 4 against the relevant repair plan.
If automated FRED approval has been given, the words FRED auto-approved will be displayed next to the repair plan.
The repair can then be progressed through the remaining steps in Workflow to completion.
