Vehicle Communication Interface Driver (G4287088)

The software drivers and firmware for the Bosch Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) will periodically be updated when new software and firmware are made available to JLR, by the VCI manufacturer.

When an update is available, it will take place in two steps, the first step is to update the software on the laptop, and the second will be to update the firmware on the VCI.

How to Update the VCI Driver

  1. When an update is available and DDA is next launched, a popup will be displayed informing you that an update is available.
  2. When the update is accepted the new software drivers will be downloaded and installed to the laptop being used. You should follow all on-screen instructions to complete the download and installation.
  3. When complete, DDA will need to be re-launched as it will be closed automatically during the previous steps.
  4. When DDA is re-launched and a VCI is connected to the machine, DDA will check the VCI firmware is at the correct level and compatible with the software drivers on the laptop
  5. If the firmware on the VCI is earlier than the level required on the laptop, then the VCI firmware update will begin. All on-screen instructions must be followed.
  6. When complete, a session can then be started with TOPIx Cloud.
NOTE:
  • The VCI must be connected through Universal Serial Bus (USB) in order for the update to the VCI to take place
  • The update must be completed when offered to make sure the laptop and VCI operate correctly
